Sadly, it is funny because people can relate. Granted, he is using hyperbole (college was also about the experience, right?) but unless we seek to create significant learning experiences which result in changed thinking and changed behavior, our teaching will be as useful as those experiences and lack of true learning that Father Guido is responding to.
You gotta love Father Guido!! Thanks for the laughs, Sarah! Somehow I think Ken would approve. . .
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen him in forever! Thanks for the laugh!!! It's funny, he talks about what a student actually remembers 5 years from the class and my book,Teaching with Your Mouth Shut, says the same things he does; we don't remember much at all.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get the "window" for You Tube to show up on your blog? I just provided links on mine.
This was great. Sometimes I feel like I have to dig deep sometimes to remember what class I had last. I know it will come back once my brain has a chance to slow down...
ReplyDelete@Dawn Deming... There is an option to "insert video" when creating a new post or editing one. After you select that, there's an option to choose a youtube video (I think you can search from there, too.) Let me know if you need more info!
